The weekend has arrived at last friends, and we think this one is that much sweeter with the knowledge that next week is only four days long. So, just how should you spend your pre-Easter weekend? Here is the latest Maytime Inn news plus some suggestions on how to spend your time off.
Wine by the glass
While a pub serving wine by the glass might not sound like anything to shout about, we promise you it is in this case! Thanks to our investment in two high-tech gadgets (The Coravin and La Verre De Vin Wine Preservation System) we are now able to offer most of our wine menu by the glass.
This includes the majority of our sparkling wines as well as our white, rose and red offerings. These nifty little gadgets mean that we can either open a bottle of wine and pour a glass before deoxygenating and resealing the bottle, or we can get wine out of the bottle without removing the cork at all!
We have acquired these devices so that you can purchase any wine you desire by the glass, with assurance its quality will always be at its absolute best.
What is more fun than a Sunday night pub quiz? A Sunday night pub quiz safe in the knowledge that you don’t have to go to work on Monday, of course!
To help you to enjoy our monthly pub quiz, even more so than usual, we have moved it from the last Sunday of the month to Easter Sunday. The Quiz starts at 7 pm on the 21st of April and booking is strongly recommended.
Entry £1 per person with a maximum team size of six.
If you want to expand your gin knowledge and have a jolly good time while you do so you may be interested in a Maytime Inn Gin Tasting! For £28 per person, we will give you an introduction to three interesting gins and supply your group with a few of our sharing boards to nibble on while you taste them.
Plus, at the end of the tasting, we will even give you a little gift to take home with you! Booking is essential, as we need time to prepare the tasting before you arrive. Minimum of four people.
Our Sunday afternoon music sessions will be recommencing on the 28th of April at 3 pm with the fantastic Vince Freeman. From this date, we will then have musicians performing every other Sunday throughout the spring and summer. Full line up here.
Rare Plant Fair at the Old Rectory

The fair will be open from 11 am to 4 pm with entry costing £5 for both the fair and the historic garden.
